  Tink frowned. She didn’t need medical. She needed him. Struggling to sit up, she finally gave up when she realized J’kar wasn’t going to let her go. Tiredly she laid back. “I don’t need medical. I need you to hold me.”

  “I should have been gentler.” Running his hand along her face he ran it further down her body stopping with a look of horror when he saw the traces of blood on the inside of her thighs. “I must get you to medical immediately.”

  “Please, get dressed. If you are not able, I will call for the healer to come here.”

  “You want me to touch you? After I hurt you?” J'kar asked in shock.

  “What are you talking about? You didn’t hurt me. Well, it hurt for a minute but I knew it would since I had never been with a man before. But, it won’t hurt like that again.” Tink said, her voice muffled as she pressed her face into J'kar's chest.

  “I do not understand. I saw the blood.” J'kar whispered.

  Tink looked up in disbelief. “That’s normal the first time.”

  Shaking his head J’kar looked down into Tink’s beautiful brown eyes. “Normal? I do not understand.”

  J’kar left Tink sleeping in his room. They had made love again and again.   Walking onto the deck of the bridge, J’kar noted the furtive glances he received from the crew men. Frowning, he walked over to where Lan, Derik, and Borj were talking quietly. He was surprised when they broke apart almost guiltily.

  “What reports do you have?” J’kar asked, reaching for a nearby data screen. Glancing over it, he waited for one of the men to reply.

  Clearing his throat Borj replied. “Um, everything looks well. All damage has been repaired and we are on schedule for docking with the space dock tomorrow.”

  Noticing the odd tone to Borj’s voice J’kar looked up and studied him. “You are well? Do you need to see the healer?”

  He really focused on the men standing in front of him for the first time since entering the bridge. Derik and Lan avoided looking him in the eye. They actually had a slightly red tint to their faces. Borj looked at him but seemed uncomfortable shifting from one foot to the other. J’kar had never seen any of his warriors so uncomfortable before. Glancing around the bridge, he noticed all the men had stopped what they were doing and were watching him. When they noticed he was returning their stares they quickly turned back to their stations.

  “Conference room. Now.” J’kar said through clenched teeth. Turning, he strode toward the conference room door. He knew something was amiss and planned to find out what it was. He had a bad feeling it was going to involve his bond mate.

  The door closed behind them with a soft whish. Walking over to the replicator he asked for a cup of tea. If his feelings proved accurate he might end up with something much, much stronger. Squaring his shoulders he took a sip of tea watching the three men who had followed him. He almost felt a sense of amusement as they looked at each other then shuffled uneasily from one foot to the other.

  “Well. What is it?” J’kar asked in a deceptively calm voice. His eyes scanned the three and he wondered who would speak first. His eyes narrowed on Lan as he seemed to be the most uncomfortable. Borj looked hesitant while Derik just stood there with an idiotic grin on his face.

  “How is your bond mate?” Lan began uncomfortably. J’kar’s eyes narrowed even further when he noticed slight beads of sweat beginning to form on Lan’s forehead.

  “She is well. Why do you ask?” J'kar asked hesitantly.

  Pulling at his collar as if it was suddenly too tight, Lan cleared his throat. “The mating ritual is complete?” It was more a statement than a question and J’kar could tell Lan was becoming more uncomfortable with each passing moment.

  “It is.” J’kar’s voice had dropped to a deadly calm. “Why do you ask?”

  Lan looked desperately from Borj to Derik. He was shaking his head back and forth as if he was trying to convey some message.

  J’kar set his cup on the long table and leaned forward placing both hands down flat on it. “Why. Do. You. Ask?” he repeated slowly.

  J’kar pulled back sharply. “What?” he said hoarsely.

  Borj put his hand on his younger brother’s arm muttering under his breath. “If you value your life I think I had better explain the answer to this question.”

  J’kar’s face had grown darker and darker as Derik argued with Borj. Clenching both hands into tight fists he sought to control the beginning rage that was building in him.

  Turning to glare at Borj, J’kar forced the words out. “Tell me.”

  “Perhaps it would be better if we were to sit down.” Borj moved to sit at the farthest end away from J’kar. The other two men quickly followed. Each man made sure they were seated near the door.

  Clearing his throat, Borj tried to think of a way to explain what happened yesterday in the dining level without getting them all killed.   What happened yesterday was an unforeseeable event. He did not know of another instance where something like it had occurred in all of Prime history. Borj had been unaware of the events as he was resting. When he returned to the bridge and noticed most of the men gone he had been worried they had been under attack again. The two men remaining on the bridge had strained expressions of pain on their faces and were breathing abnormally. Both begged to be relieved of their post for a short time. Unable to cope with so few men Borj had requested additional help from Lan’s department. When he received no reply, he had ordered Lan to the bridge immediately. Lan arrived with Derik in tow. The first thing Borj noticed was how flushed both men appeared. A short time later most of the men had returned t
o their post. Borj was confused and requested the healer to join them on the bridge as well. He debated whether he should interrupt J’kar but decided not to until he had ascertained what the problem was. Moving the group into the same conference room, he had begun his inquiry. At first, he did not receive any information that made any sense to what was going on. Upon further investigation, the whole tale of what happened was retold. It appeared once Tink decided to explain about twenty-first century sex on Earth some of the men in the dining hall had opened their communication devices to others aboard the ship so that they could hear what she had to say. It had soon spread and was being broadcast ship wide. Borj had listened to the whole tale in silence unable to believe what he was being told. When parts of what Tink had explained were played for him, especially the demonstration on oral sex, he found himself in the same situation as the men had.
