  Silhouetted against the light coming from the corridor was J’kar’s large figure. Not saying anything, he moved into the room and gave the command to lock the door.

  “You don’t look any better than you did when you left. What is your problem?” Tink asked crossly. She wasn’t up to an argument with him, at least, not until she had some clothes on. Standing, she moved to cross to the bathroom. The least she could do was put her dirty clothes back on then she would feel better about dealing with him.

  J’kar moved at the same time Tink did. He ignored Tink’s yell when he picked her up and tossed her onto the bed. He laid down on top of her, pinning her hands above her head to prevent her from moving.

  Tink stared up at J’kar. She didn’t know what was wrong but something had definitely pissed the big guy off. He was furious. Not just mad. Not just angry. Totally, berserker furious.

  “What’s wrong?” Tink asked in a small voice.

  “You.” J’kar growled harshly.

  “Me. What did I do?” Tink squeaked.

  Breathing deeply, J’kar tried to get control of the emotions raging through him. He had meant to come back to the room to discipline her. He had not expected to find her covered in so little clothing or unaware of what she had done to him. He could sense her confusion was real.

  Staring down into her eyes, he asked her, “Do you remember your connection to me a short while ago.”

  “What connection? Are you-we-doing the weird mind reading thing again?” Tink asked confused.

  “I need to know if you purposely connected to me a short while ago?” J'kar asked in a gruff voice.

  “I don’t know how. You are the one doing it. I just answer you. What happened a little while ago? Did I do something that hurt you?” Tink’s eyes grew wide with fear.

  She didn’t want to hurt anyone. If she had hurt him unintentionally she needed him to know she didn’t mean too. She didn’t understand all this brain to brain communication stuff. Could she have hurt him?

  Tink’s eyes filled with tears as she asked the question she was afraid to have him answer. “Did I hurt you somehow? I don’t understand how you can talk to me telepathically. Humans can’t do that. If I hurt you I didn’t mean too. What happened?” Tink whispered.

  J’kar closed his eyes briefly as he thought about what she said. If she spoke the truth she was unaware of the power she had over him. He could not condemn her for something she had not been aware of doing. He could not punish her for doing something she was unaware of doing. He would need to teach her, though. She had much more power over him than anyone else ever had.

  “Your thoughts, little one, are very powerful. You had thoughts earlier that were very..." J’kar paused, searching for the right words, “...arousing. It became very difficult for me.”

  It took a moment for his words to sink in. When they did Tink turned a brilliant shade of red. “Oh, lord. You saw all the things I was thinking about?”

  “Yes. I saw. I felt. And...I reacted.” J’kar said. He didn’t like to admit it but he needed her to understand the power of her thoughts and their effect on him. “I had never experienced anything like that before and it was most difficult.”

  Raising an eyebrow Tink couldn’t resist asking. “Did you like it?”

  Groaning, J’kar rolled off Tink, standing quickly and moving to the other side of the room. Turning to face her he growled. “More than you can imagine. What you imagined is impossible.”

  “Why?” Tink asked curiously.

  “Are you telling me the males and females of your planet actually do the things you imagined?” J’kar looked at Tink with disbelief.

  Eyes wide with amazement, it was J’kar’s turn to ask questions. “Where did you learn about it? Have you done this with males of your species? With the male...Cosmos?”

  “Your mother told you about such things?” J'kar asked in disbelief.

  “You don’t know my mom. Let me tell you, she could give you a sex education class that would have all the men on your planet blushing. If not that, just listening to her and my dad talk to each other is enough of an education.” Tink muttered picking at the corner of the towel she was wearing.
